Vigilance arrest Nabarangpur Deputy Excise Superintendent

Bhubaneswar, Nov 25 : Vigilance officials on Saturday arrested Ganga Paikray, Nabarangpur Deputy Excise Superintendent, on possession of disproportionate assets (DA) to the tune of 208
per cent of his known sources of income
Paikray is being forwarded to the Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Jeypore .
A case was registered against Ganga Paikray, and his spouse U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(b)/12 P.C. Amendment Act, 2018.
Paikray was arrested after during house searches, movable and immovable assets worth Crores were unearthed in his name and in the name of his family members.
During searches the vigilance officials unearthed two triple storied buildings one parking shed at Jeypore, Advance amount Rs.16 Lakh paid to Annapurna Real Estate, Jeypore during 2013-14 to purchase land/house, five plots in prime area of Jeypore town were found.
In addition to it Rs 1,12,240 in cash, 2 four wheelers and 2 two wheelers worth approx Rs.17 Lakhs, Jewellery, deposits and household articles worth approx Rs.20 Lakhs were also found.
After thorough search, inventory and further enquiry, the income, expenditure and assets of Paikray, were calculated and he was found in possession of disproportionate assets which were 208 per cent in excess of his known sources of income.
Investigation of the case is in progress.
