Odisha vigilance unearths huge property from the possession of a lady officer

Bhubaneswar, June 22 : The sleuths of Odisha vigilance on Thursday unearthed assets worth crores of rupees from the possession of a former District Social Welfare Officer of Bhadrak during house searches.

Vigilance sources said on the allegation of possession of disproportionate assets (DA) by Jayanti Behera, presently posted at W & CD Department, Bhubaneswar, simultaneous house searches are being conducted at 11 places in Bhubaneswar, Balasore and Bhadrak.

During the search operation the Vigilance officials unearthed three multi storied buildings in Balasore, 2 Flats in Bhubaneswar, 4 plots, Postal & Insurance deposits over Rs.1.40 crore,,Rs.2.79 Lakhs in cash, one four wheeler, along with other assets so far in the name of Behera and her family members.

The measurement and valuation of the building /flats/plots is being carried out by the Vigilance Technical Wing.
