Colours Of Joy To Be Showered On Holi As More Than 1.5 Cr People To Get ‘Free LPG Gas Cylinders’

Lucknow, Mar 15: the festival of colours, Holi is going to be special for many families of Uttar Pradesh as it’s gonna shower some colours of joy in addition! After securing a humongous victory in the UP elections, the Government is planning to give the free gas cylinders under the PM Ujjwala Yojana. The Food and Civil Supplies Department has sent a proposal to the government to give free LPG gas cylinders on Holi.

In fact, the BJP had made a promise before the assembly elections, to give free cylinders on Holi and Diwali to the beneficiaries of the Ujjwala scheme. There are 1.65 crore beneficiaries of the Ujjwala scheme in the state. To give away free gas cylinders to these many people govt will have to bear Rs 3000 crores expenditure.

Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana is a scheme for providing LPG connections to women from Below Poverty Line (BPL) households.

The Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana is a Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas scheme that provides LPG connections to women.

The Food and Civil Supplies Department has sent its proposal to the government on Monday. After the approval of this proposal, the budget will be released from the Finance Department and cylinders will be distributed.
