By the grace of the Lord, Odisha has been sprinkled over by fame of being the first in many fields.
Be it religious virtues or spectacle of nature, the state has traveled long in making it to become a front runner. Including in the field of sports under the never ever before initiative of the Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
Before coming to the streaks of shines in the state politics, let us see what parameters it has made in national sphere as well.
Today, India has as its constitutional head a woman from the deep interiors of Odisha, Droupadi Murmu, the President of India. A history scripted few time back.
Born to a humble family from the tribal community, in Mayurbhanj district, Murmu has stayed all along a down to earth politician and individual also.
The records do not stop at that. The recent political turmoil in Jharkhand has spun a likely pleasant surprise for Odisha.
In the case of Hemant Soren, Jharkhand chief minister, who is now on the run to save his party’s rule, maybe he loses out over the Election Commission’s query, but he has in the mind to repeat what Lalu Prasad Yadav did years back.
Soren plans, as chatters from Jharkhand are being heard, that he will see his wife, Kalpana Soren be made the chief minister in his palace.
Speculations are abuzz that, that is a more likely option for Hemant Soren than seeing his entire cabinet resign for a fresh polling.
Kalpana, is also a woman from Odisha and to be specific, from Mayurbhanj district’s Baripada. The same district which has entered the history by pitch forking Murmu as the President of India.
Plus Odisha has a chief minister who is virtually heaped under praises of being one of the very few chief ministers to have earned accolades year after year, as the best chief minister. Pioneering sports enthusiast and an enviable track record of administrative excellence.
Odisha BJP’s  poster boy Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister  for last eight years, playing crucial roles as a political motivator, is also from Odisha.
