Rajya Sabha Election: BJD Announces 4 Candidates
Bhubaneswar, May 29: The Biju Janata Dal (BJD), on Sunday announced four names of its candidates for Rajya Sabha seats from Odisha.
Sulata Deo, Manas Ranjan Mangaraj, Sasmit Patra and Niranjan Bishi are the nominees of BJD.
Notably, tenure of MPs Nekkanti Bhaskar Rao, Prasanna Acharya and Sasmit Patra will end on July 1. Similarly, a Rajya Sabha seat from Odisha fell vacant after Subhash Chandra Singh resigned from the post after being elected as the Mayor of the Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) in March, this year.
Polling for three Rajya Sabha seats will be held from 9 am to 4 pm on June 10 while counting of votes will take place at 5 PM on the very day.
Likewise, bypoll to one Rajya Sabha seat from Odisha will be held from 9 am to 4 pm on June 13. The counting of votes will take place at 5 pm on the same day.
