Odisha Minister Urged Giriraj To Synchronise 6.5 Lakh Household Data With Awas+

Bhubaneswar, Jan 31 : Odisha Panchayati Raj Housing and Urban Development minister Pratap Jena on Monday urged Union Rural Development and Panchayatiraj Minister Giriraj Singh to synchronise 6. 5 lakh households data in the state owned rural housing portal with the Awas+. Jena in a letter to M.Singh, copies of which were released to the press, regretted that despite the state’s repeated request the Union government has not heeded the genuine demands of the state.
But synchronisation of the data from the Karnataka government MIS into AWAS+ was allowed on January 13 last, he said. Jena said ignoring the repeated requests from Odisha will not support the cause of the state and further deprive lakhs of tribal beneficiaries living in the scheduled areas of the state and deserving poor people belonging to KBK region and western parts of the state. The minister requested the Union Minister to rectify the injustice being meted out to Odisha and its people.
He said even Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has written to the Prime Minister in this regard and he himself had held discussion with the Union Minister yet the Union government has not paid any heed to it. Patnaik in his letter to the Prime Minister had requested him to synchronise the data of 6.65 lakh households in the state owned Rural Housing portal with the AWAS+, sanction 1.84 lakh Special PMAY(G) houses as promised during 2019 in the aftermath of cyclonic storm FANI and to open the Awas+ window for some time to incorporate names of eligible left out families.
