Human Rights Day 2022: Dignity, Freedom, and Justice for All

Bhubaneswar: On December 10th, the world celebrated Human Rights Day, commemorating the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR). The UDHR was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in 1948 and is widely considered the cornerstone of international human rights law.

The day is used to raise awareness of civil, political, economic, and social rights, and to emphasize the importance of protecting the rights of all individuals. The theme for Human Rights Day 2022 is “Dignity, Freedom and Justice For All.”

Human Rights Day is also used to highlight the work of human rights defenders and organizations. The day is also an opportunity to reflect on the progress that has been made in the field of human rights and to consider what more needs to be done.
