Bhubaneswar: The Headmaster of Somnathpur UGUPS School (SUMS) located at Simulia in Balasore district was found sleeping in his office after drinking alcohol on Tuesday.
The Headmaster identified as Karunakar Singh had arrived at the school at around 10.15 am after drinking alcohol and fell asleep in the office.
As he had not brought any items required for the mid-day meal, the school’s cook had not prepared any food.
After learning about it, the villagers bought some biscuits for the children and fed them. They reported the matter to the Assistant Block Education Officer (ABEO).
The ABEO reached the school and found the Headmaster in an inebriated condition. He promised to conduct a probe and taken strict action against the headmaster.
