Sensex Down Over 400 Points

Mumbai, Apr 6: The BSE Sensex on Wednesday lost further by 472 points at 59,704.20 in opening session as selling pressure was seen in FMCG, Finance, Auto and Consumer Discretionary Goods and Services stocks. The Nifty too slid 116.30 points at 17,841.10. The Sensex registered the days high and low at 59,941.57 and 59,683.04 points respectively.

The Nifty registered the days high and low at 17,901 and 17,819.15 points respectively. The Mid Cap moved up 0.12 per cent and Small Cap by 0.21per cent. In 30 scrips, 8 advanced while 22 declined. The losers were HDFC Bank by 1.82 per cent to Rs 1577.85, HDFC by 1.67 per cent to Rs 2578.20, Kotak Bank by 1.50 per cent to Rs 1775.50, Tech Mahindra by 1.41 per cent to Rs 1467.95 and Axis Bank by 1.38 per cent to Rs 772.70. The gainers were NTPC by 2.65 per cent to Rs 153.10,Tata Steel by 1.21 per cent to Rs 1361.20, Bharti Airtel by 0.82 per cent to Rs 772.50 and L& T by 0.47 per cent to Rs 1842.35. UNI
