NIA’s Rs. 50L Bounty To Net 10 Terrorists
New Delhi, Jan 6: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Thursday announced a cash reward of Rs. 50 lakh for information leading to the arrest of 10 terrorists who attacked an Assam Rifles convoy in Manipur killing five persons including an officer, his wife and their son.
The agency declared a bounty of Rs. 4-8 lakh against 10 militants belonging to the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) and the Manipur Naga People’s Front (MNPF).
It announced Rs. 8 lakh each for information about Chaoyai and Sagolsem Inaocha, Rs. 6 lakh for Sanatomba and Rs. 4 lakh each for Khaba, Khwairakpa, Nongyai, Joseph, Rocky, Balin and Kanta. A statement issued by the NIA also carried the photos of the accused.
It said that if anyone had information of importance on the above suspects, it could be relayed to the NIA in New Delhi or Imphal. The name of the informant will be kept a secret, it said.
The attack on a convoy of 46 Assam Rifles near Sialsih village on the India-Myanmar road in Churachandpur on November 13 last yea killed Commanding Officer Col Viplav Tripathi, his wife and their eight-year-old son and two others besides injuring six people.
