Raipur, Jan 14 :The novel coronavirus curve is displaying absolutely no sign whatsoever of flattening in Chhattisgarh where a record 6,015 fresh infections and seven fatalities – two in Durg; one each in Raipur, Rajnandgaon, Korba, Janjgir-Champa and Balodabazar-Bhatapara – were reported over the past 24 hours during which 63,221 samples were analysed, the positivity rate touched 9.51 per cent and active cases shot up to 28,797 even as 4,636 individuals recuperated.
Health Department sources said that the district-wise break-up of new sufferers includes Raipur 2,020 (the state’s highest); Durg 673; Korba 520; Bilaspur 459; Raigarh 454; Janjgir-Champa 281; Rajnandgaon 246; Jashpur 226; Surguja 194; Koriya 137; Dantewada 78; Dhamtari 76; Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi 62; Surajpur 55 and Balodabazar-Bhatapara 50.
