Now the ball is in the court of the police and the police which investigates the Shraddha Walkar killing, owes as answer and is under the lens of a probe itself. Because, the police department was aware of an imminent threat to Shraddha’s life but the latter sat over the issue.
If a panicked Shraddha had made a SOS through a letter seeking their intervention as she had the fears that Aftaab Poonawala had become a menace for her safety and she can be killed anytime by him, why not a hair wilted in the police department?
No one can pen such a letter until and unless one is under a pressing fear of death and torture. What is more baffling is that, the said letter from Shraddha had been duly acknowledged by the then police yet no action was taken to safeguard the lady.
Exactly two years ago on November 23, 2020, Shraddha Walkar had submitted a written complaint to the Tulinj Police Station in Palghar of threats from her live-in partner, Aftab Ameen Poonawalla and how he threatened to “kill and cut her into pieces”.
The letter, which has just surfaced, was duly acknowledged by police but it is not known if there was any further follow-up action in the matter.
In her complaint, she sounded desperate and stated that Aftab was beating her up, blackmailing her and was threatening to murder her and cut her body into pieces.
Nearly two years later, Shraddha’s worst fears turned true with Aaftab getting arrested for killing her and chopping her into many pieces in Delhi.
