Lab Techie Slapped With 10 Yrs Imprisonment For Swab Collection From Private Part On Pretext Of Corona Test

Amravati, Feb 4: A lab technician has been slapped with ten years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 10,000 for drawing a Corona swab sample from the private parts of a young girl.

The technician from Modi Laboratory, Badnera in Amravati District Alankesh Deshmukh was charged of molestation when the issue came to light. The girl, who told that she has tested Corona positive was called for further test. Alankesh took a swab from her private part.

Following the complaint, Badnera police registered a case of rape attempt and molestation against Alankesh, about 15 months back.

The Amravati Sessions Court recorded statements of 12 persons and awarded 1o years rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 10,000. The reported incident evoked strong reactions from across the nation. Demonstrations demanding arresting the culprit and inflicting stringent punishment were staged. Government Pleader Sunil Deshmukh argued effectively to ensure that the culprit is punished.
