Bhubaneswar, Mar 17: “Like Boss, like sub-ordinate”, yes, this’s not the exact age-old proverb. But this happened to be true in case of the arrested fake and Casanova doctor, Ramesh swain of Odisha. On Thursday, the Commissionerate Police arrested Ramesh Swain’s driver Pappu from Ranpur area in Nayagarh dist.
As per police sources, Pappu is a close associate of Swain and has been working as a driver for him. It is suspected that he had helped Swain in executing fraudulent activities. Pappu was reportedly absconding following the arrest of Swain. Ramesh Swain was arrested last month for allegedly marrying several women in Odisha and outside by posing as a doctor and duping them of huge amounts of money and assets.
Police is said to have taken Pappu to an undisclosed location for interrogation in connection with the crime charges against Ramesh and his links with the later. The development assumes much significance since the arrest has been done just a day after grueling polygraph test on Swain about his series of cheating and fraudulent activities.
Swain underwent the lie detector test at the State Forensic laboratory for about five hours during which he was believed to have been subjected to more than 50 questions.
