New Delhi, March 29: Delhi Police on Tuesday registered an FIR against unknown people in East Delhi’s Ghazipur landfill site fire incident. A senior police official said that police lodged an FIR under Sections 278 (making atmosphere noxious to health), 285 (negligent conduct with respect to fire or combustible matter) and 336 (act endangering life or personal safety of others) against unknown people of the Indian Penal Code. A massive fire reportedly broke out at East Delhi’s Ghazipur landfill site at around 2:37 pm on Monday.

After receiving a fire call, the fire tenders were rushed to the site, said Delhi Fire Service. On Monday, AAP MLA Atishi tweeted on this issue and wrote, “Now that MCD has been brought directly under the Central Government, maybe PM Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah will care to tell us how they plan to deal with the crisis of the Ghazipur garbage mountain.” UNI
