Balasore Cyber police nab a Nigerian for duping Rs.30 lakh of a telecom officer

Balasore, Aug 11 : The Cyber police of Balasore have busted a fraudster syndicate with the arrest of a Nigerian national ,mastermind in duping a state owned telecom officer, a resident of Balasore town to the tune of about Rs 30 lakh..
The complainant who never wished to disclose his identity had lodged an FIR with the police alleging he lost money after being trapped and the Cyber police following investigation arrested
the fraudster from Delhi, police sources said on Thursday.
The accused identified as Samson Emeke Alika(39), is forwarded to court after being booked
under relevant sections of IPC including 419,420,465,467,468and 66 (C),66(D) IT and
forwarded to court
He is further sent to jail under judicial custody on rejection of his bail plea .
According to police, the accused with his network used to trap the gullible people and siphon
money by different means .
In this case he had befriended the complainant through a social media network, Facebook messenger chatting, posing as a woman from the UK .
After sending luring messages he developed intimacy and offered him a gift ,a costly branded
wrist watch, free of cost .
After winning the heart and trust of the complainant they became further close and the
accused said that more gifts were dispatched to him .
After that the complainant received a message that his items were received in Delhi international airport and money to be paid towards custom clearances.
The complainant kept sending money in a phased manner to different account numbers given by the accused .
And after losing about Rs 30 lakh he realized that he was trapped and money had been siphoned
by the fraudster. He finally approached the Cyber police.
Reports said the accused was using international SIM and his female colleagues were talking to
the complainant. The fraudster also manipulated bank accounts to receive money.
