31-Yr-old Held For Involvement In Rohini Court Shootout Case

New Delhi, Jan 27  : A 31-year-old man, who was allegedly involved in Rohini Court shootout case in which gangster Jitender alias Gogi was killed, was arrested from Meerut, police said on Thursday. The accused has been identified as Naveen alias Bhanja alias Vickey, who was previously involved in heinous cases of MCOCA, attempt to murder, extortion and Arms Act registered in various police stations of Delhi. Delhi Police had declared Rs 50,000 cash reward on his arrest.

He is a gangster of Neeraj Bawania Gang and previously involved in a number of heinous crimes as well as wanted in the planning and execution of Gogi murder case at Rohini Court Complex, said Sanjeev Kumar Yadav, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Special Cell, Delhi Police. A secret input was received by the police that Naveen would come to meet someone in a car on Muzaffar Nagar-Meerut Road. Acting on this tip-off, the team took position at Meerut-Muzaffarnagar Toll Gate and signalled a car coming from Muzaffar Nagar to stop.

The driver stopped the car near Toll plaza and tried to take a U-turn, but he was apprehended by police. Naveen was a key player in the murder of Gogi. He said planning for the crime began in July last year, from inside the capital’s Mandoli jail. He added that jailed gangster Sunil Balyan alias Tillu Tajpuria, along with Naveen Bali, were the main conspirators and he was also a part of conspiracy and execution. Since Naveen, after jumping parole, remained most of the time in Nepal, his associates used to call him Nepali, added Yadav.
