Tokyo Paralympics: Sumit Antil shatters Wworld ecord to bag Gold, Avani Lekhara wins maiden Gold, Kathunia, Jhajharia grab Silver

After a wonderful Day 5 where India bagged two silver medals and a bronze, It’s raining medals for India at Tokyo Paralympics on Day 6. Sumit Antil joined Avani Lekhara to clinch India’s second gold at the Paralympics, shattering the world record to clinch the win. Antil threw a distance of 68.55m to clinch the top podium spot, in a stellar performance in Tokyo. Avani Lekhara began the tally by claiming first Gold for India with a new Paralympic record while Yogesh Kathunia has bagged a silver in men’s discus throw. Meanwhile, Devendra Jhajharia has also won a Silver medal in the men’s javelin throw while Sundar Singh Gurjar added a Bronze medal in the event.
