Inoculation suspended in 10 districts of Odisha

Bhubaneswar, Jul 11 : Covid-19 vaccination was suspended in 10 districts of the State on Saturday due to shortage of vaccines.

There was no vaccination programme in Baleswar, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Kalahandi, Kendrapada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nayagarh, Nuapada and Subarnapur.

Currently, 59,920 doses of Covishield and 3,93,010 doses of Covaxin vaccines are in stock in the State.

On Friday, 1.73 lakh doses of Covaxin had reached for vaccination in Bhubaneswar and Ganjam district. The State will receive 3.15 lakh doses of Covishield vaccine on July 15, according to the Health Department.

On Friday, as many as 93,334 beneficiaries of 18-44 and 45+ age groups were vaccinated at 545 session sites in the State. While 41,636 beneficiaries of the 18-44 age group received their first dose of vaccines, 3,421 persons were given second shot. Similarly, 11,673 persons above 45 years were given the first dose and 35,842 beneficiaries of the age group received the second jab.

So far, 1,32,72,638 people have been vaccinated in the State.
