Crime branch conducts lie detection test of ACF’s wife

Bhubaneswar: Following lie detction test of DFO and deceased’s cook, the polygraph test (lie detection) of Bidyabharti Panda, wife of deceased Paralakhemundi Assistant Conservator of Forest (ACF) Soumya Ranjan Mohapatra, has reportedly been accomplished.

A team of Forensic specialists conducted Bidyabharti’s lie detection test at the State Forensic Science Laboratory today. They said to have asked her over 100 questions during the 3-hour long lie detection test to ascertain truth behind the mysterious death of her husband Soumya Ranjan Mohapatra.

Bidyabharti’s polygraph test by the Forensic specialists began with easy questions which followed difficult questions. The expert team is said to have asked her questions like how she came to know Paralakhemundi Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Sangram Keshari Behera?, when he reached the spot while Soumya Ranjan was battling for life?, how did Soumya Ranjan received burn injuries?, why he was taken to Cuttack SCB Medical College and Hospital for treatment?, who decided to take him to Cuttack?, how was her married life with Soumya Ranjan?, why they had decided and signed an agreement not to have any relationship after marriage?, did she inform about Soumya Ranjan’s death to his family members and about her alleged extramarital affair with the DFO?.

It is pertinent to mention that the ACF had sustained burn injuries at his official quarters in Parlakhemundi on July 11. He succumbed while being treated at a private hospital in Cuttack on the following story. His family demanded strict action to be taken against the culprit following proper investigation.
