Paralakhemundi : In further development regarding Paralekhimundi Assistant Conservator of Forest (ACF) Soumya Ranjan Mohapatra death case, the report which was released on Monday stated that the serviceable officer had succumbed tp severe burn injuries involving about 95% body surface area.
The findings in the report assume significance in view of the controversies surrounding the ACF’s death mystery which gathered steam following allegations of murder made by his family members who accused his wife Bidya Bharati and some others to be the perpetrators.
Meanwhile, the post mortem report stated that ‘the burn injuries described on the body are ante mortem in nature and could have been due to application of dry heat in the form of fire and flame’.
It further stated that the ACF’s stomach was ‘empty without emitting any suspicious odour’. Body cavities and all other organs were intact and congested, the report said.
The time of death has been mentioned as six hours before the autopsy.
The post-mortem report was handed over to the father and brother of the deceased at Markat Nagar police station in Cuttack on Monday reported an Odia news channel.
