Open & repair Ratna Bhandar-Pradhan

Puri, Nov 18 : Union Minister for Education Dharmendra Pradhan demanded the opening and repair of the Ratna bhandar of Sri Jaganath temple Puri.
Speaking at the sidelines of a function organised for laying the foundation for the renovation of Sadashib Kendriya Sanskrit Sansthan, the Union Minister, after visiting Srimandir for the darshsn of the Trinity, told media persons that there is a need to repair the Ratna bhandar of the sri Jagannath temple and count the Jewelleries of the deities.
He said the repairs to Natamandop in Srimandir should be completed on time.
Pradhan laid the foundation for the complete renovation of Sadashib Kendriya Sanskrit Sansthan at cost of Rs 100 crore.
This included the construction of an eight-story administrative building, two five-story hostel buildings for boys and girls, and another five-story building for guest houses and staff quarters.
Pradhan released the sanskrit version of Odia Mahalaxmi Puran, translated by Dr Harekrushna Satpathy. Odia Mahalaxmi Puran was written by Saint Balaram Das. He also addressed the three-day discourse on the Mahalaxmi Purana.
He said Mahalaxmi Purana gives a clear message to society over women empowerment, the end of untouchability, and redefining society by going beyond cast barriers.
This book should be translated into other languages in the country. The minister said he will talk to National Book trust (NBT) over the matter.
Hundreds of years ago, pundits Harihar Das and Sadashiv Mishra established Sanskrit tolls to propagate Sanskrit, the mother of many languages, the Union Minister said.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given priority to strengthening Sanskrit institutions across the country. He advised students to study properly.
Dr Srinibas Barkhadi the chancellor of the sansthanam, Atul Kumar Nanda, the Director of Sadashib campus, Sambit Patra, the chief of ITDC, MLAs Jayant Kumar Sarangi and Lalatendu Bidyadhar Mahapatra were present. Over three hundred Vedic scholars are participating in the three-day-long conference.
