Cuttack : During the pandemic, when white poison business was rampant in the state Odisha Police had busted the rackets numerous times. Another such development has been marked as Police again seized 1kg 159 grams of white poison from Balasore.
It’s to be noted that Balasore has become the nest for shipment of Brown sugar to various places. Today, huge quantities of brown sugar were seized from Cuttack. Cuttack Special Squad seized 1 kg 159 grams of brown sugar. Police have arrested six people in connection with the brown sugar trade.
Police commissioner Soumendra Priyadarshi told that the white poison dealers were planning to bring brown sugar from Jaleswar and send it to Jagatsinghpur, Puri and Kendrapara. Similarly, 6 kg and 300 grams were seized from Cuttack-Bhubaneswar. In the last five months, Police have seized 4 kg and 280 grams of white poison from Cuttack.
