Silence from opposition on historic feat of 2.5 Cr vaccination is deplorable : Nadda

New Delhi : Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Jai Praksh Nadda attacked the opposition on Monday calling their silence over the country’s achievement of administering more than 2.5 crore in a single day last week “deplorable”.

“While the country celebrated this rare feat (over 2.5 Cr vaccination), silence from the opposition is very disturbing and deplorable. The opposition has been attacking the vaccination drive for the last one year with their irresponsible statements. But the country stands in shoulder to shoulder with PM Modi which September 17 historic,” he said.

Meanwhile, Nadda thanked frontline workers and the citizens for achieving the landmark of 2.5 crore immunisation which is the highest in the world so far.

“The rare feat was a birthday gift from the nation to PM Modi. It was done by our doctors, paramedics, healthcare workers and citizens of this country and union health minister Mansukh Mandaviya spearheaded the campaign,” he said while reviewing vaccination at AIIMS New Delhi.

On Friday, India administered over 2.5 crore Covid-19 vaccine doses, setting a new record on PM Narendra Modi’s birthday. This is the first time that more than two crore jabs have been administered in a single day

The BJP had sought to make Modi’s birthday historic by administering a record Covid-19 vaccine doses.

Special drives were undertaken by the party st many states.
