Shifting Focus: Farm leader Charuni announces party to contest in all Punjab seats

Chandigarh, Dec 18 : Haryana Bhartiya Kisan Union (BKU) leader Gurnam Singh Charuni on Saturday announced the formation of a new political party, ‘Sanyukt Sangharsh Party’, which he said will fight the Punjab assembly elections.

The party will be secular in nature, Charuni told the media at a press conference here. “Our objective is purify politics and bring good people to the front.”

The party will contest in all 117 seats in Punjab. “We will work for all sections of the society.” But Charuni, who is President of the Haryana BKU, said he himself will not contest from Punjab.
