New date to resume flights would be announced in ‘due course’: DGCA

New Delhi: Days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi called for reviewing the decision to open scheduled commercial international flights from December 15 onwards, aviation regulator Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on Wednesday said that a new date to resume flights would be announced in ‘due course.’

In a circular, the DGCA said in view of the evolving global scenario with emergence of new variant of concern, the situation is being watched closely in consultation with all stakeholders and appropriate decision indicating the effective date of resumption of scheduled commercial international passenger service would be notified in due course.

On November 26, the Centre had announced the resumption of scheduled international commercial flights from December 15, 2021.
