Sex Reassignment Surgery By Pharma Students, Man Dies

Feb 27: A man died after two undergraduate medical students in Andhra Pradesh’s Nellore attempted sex reassignment surgery on him by watching a YouTube tutorial.

The botched procedure was undertaken at a private lodge by two B Pharma students on Thursday.

The deceased was identified as Srikanth, 28, a native of Prakasam district who used to do menial menial jobs in Hyderabad. Srikanth had left his wife some time back and was living alone.

He came in contact with the two B.Pharma students and disclosed his desire to get sex reassignment surgery. Srikanth wanted to go to Mumbai for the procedure but the two undergrads convinced him to let them operate on him for a cheaper price.

The three rented a room at a private lodge for the surgery. The two students, Mastan and Jeeva, began the procedure while following a video on YouTube. Unfortunately, during the operation, Srikanth died due to excessive bleeding.

The incident came to light after the lodge staff found the dead body inside the room. Police arrested both the students.
