BJP Copying Cong In Using Agencies To Intimidate Opponents: Akhilesh

Lucknow, 19 Dec: Samajwadi Party president and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Sunday accused the ruling Bhartiya Janata Party of following the footsteps of the Congress and misusing central agencies against its opponents.

Addressing a press conference at party headquarters here, Akhilesh said, “I have said earlier that as the assembly elections will come near BJP leaders, its CMs and senior leaders from Delhi will start arriving in the state and with the income agencies like tax department, enforcement directorate and CBI will also come.”

Notably, the Income Tax department had on Saturday searched the residences of SP leaders, including national secretary and spokesman Rajiv Rai, at Mau and different other cities, including Lucknow.

“We had no doubts that these agencies will be used to attack so that SP does not form the government in UP. It’s there tendency. In which ever state they sense defeat, they push these agencies forward. They are following the footsteps of the Congress by using the same method of as to how threaten and intimidate their opponents by using central agencies,” he alleged.

Akhilesh said the atmosphere, which has build up in UP, Yogi government is not going to survive in the elections. BJP has done so much loss to UP, its an ‘unupyogi sarkaar’ (useless government). After elections the state will have ‘yogya’ (able) government. He also termed CM Yogi as ‘anupyogi’ (useless) as well. “Yogi has proved to be ‘unupyogi’ (useless) CM,” he said.

Importantly, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while laying foundation of Ganga Expressway in Shahjahanpur on Saturday, had remarked ‘UP plus Yogi ‘bahut upyogi’ (very useful)’.

He said does the central and the state government do not know the accusations against Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra ‘Teni’. “When his name has cropped up in Lakhimpur incident then why the government is trying to save him, what’s the reason behind,” he said.
He said in Lakhimpur Khiri farmers, who had gone for fight for their rights, were mowed down. “Fingers have been raised on Teni in the investigation. Why they want to distract the attention from it,” he added.

On Nishad party president Dr Sanjay Nishad not to step back from his stance of reservation for Nishad community Akhilesh said he was happy that Nishad’s did not step back, their demand is justified. “We are happy that Nishad Party did not step back on its demand of reservation to the community, though this unupyogi government (useless government) pressurised Sanjay Nishad a lot,” he said.
