Orissa HC Dismisses Varsha’s Plea to Stop Anubhav From Posting Negative Comments About Her Online
The Orissa High Court dismissed petition filed by actress Varsha Priyadarshini with an aim to stop husband Anubhav Mohanty from posting negative remarks about her on social media.
Varsha’s plea before Orissa High Court requested to stop the ‘fake and hate’ campaigns taken up by her husband against her on social media. She alleged that although their marital tussle is sub-judice in a family court in Cuttack, the videos being shared by her actor-turned-politician husband on social media platforms were attempts to defame her.
As per Varsha’s allegations, when her family discord with Anubhav is sub-judice in a family court in Cuttack, the videos being shared by the actor-turned-politician on social media platforms are defamatory. She had also requested the court to expunge the previous posts from various social media platforms that are maligning her image.
Earlier, the Court had restrained both Anubhav and his wife Varsha from posting anything on social media against each other. But in the recent decision, Orissa High Court rejected Varsha’s petition by saying that it is the fundamental right of Anubhav and the court can’t interfere with it.
Varsha had also filed two police complaints at Purighat police station and Cyber police station in Cuttack alleging that Anubhav tarnished her image in the public by posting videos on various social media platforms.
