New Delhi, Jan 24:The Supreme Court on Monday dismissed a petition seeking clarification on its decision relating to the sit-in protest at Delhi’s Shaheen Bagh against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). The apex court on October 7, 2020, after hearing a petition filed against the protest organized at Shaheen Bagh, said that public roads cannot be blocked indefinitely.

A bench of Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul and Justice M M Sundaresh on Monday dismissed Syed Bahadur Abbas Naqvi’s plea seeking clarification, saying the issue is now over. There was no need to consider the petition now and no clarification was required, the bench said. “The decision of the court has already been passed. Therefore, the petition filed now is not maintainable.

“The issue is over. Why is it listed? What clarification has been sought? I don’t understand. No explanation is needed. The whole issue is over. Excuse me. There is no explanation for the decision. The decision speaks for itself.”
