DJ Azex AKA Akshay Kumar is no more. Lovingly known as the ‘smiling DJ’, Azex was found dead on Saturday, March 18, at his home in Odisha’s Bhubaneshwar. His family members found him hanging in his room. DJ Azex was rushed to Capital Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.
According to his family members, Azex was inside his room when the city witnessed a thunderstorm. When he did not come out for a long time, they came to inquire about him at around 10 pm. When he did not answer their calls, they broke open the door and found him hanging.
The DJ’s best friend has alleged that Azex’s girlfriend was in a relationship with another man, and that they were blackmailing him. The police have filed a case under Sections 306 (abetment of suicide) and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code. They also plan to question DJ Azex’s girlfriend.
His family has called for a thorough investigation. Police have seized all the mobile phones of DJ Azex. They will also call the girlfriend and her friend to the police station and record their statement today, March 20.
Azex has been working as a DJ for almost ten years. He has more than 90 thousand followers on Instagram. His body has been kept at the Capital Hospital mortuary for an autopsy.
