Bhubaneswar: Two persons were arrested in Cuttack district of Odisha on Thursday night for illegally transporting more than 150 cattle in two container trucks to neighbouring state West Bengal.
Acting on a tip-off, police intercepted the two container trucks near Khuntuni and found over 150 cattle inside it. The cattle were rescued from the trucks and sent to a local cow shelter.
The cattle were allegedly being smuggled from the Tigiria area of Cuttack to Howrah in West Bengal. A case has been registered against the accused persons and further investigation is underway.
