Bhubaneswar: A woman attempted self-immolation at the office of the Director General of Police (DGP) in Cuttack on Wednesday, alleging blackmailing by a journalist and inaction by the police.
The woman poured kerosene on herself and tried to set herself on fire. The police personnel present at the spot immediately stopped her.
She alleged that a journalist identified as Saroj Rath has her photos and videos and has been blackmailing her. She had filed repeated complaints but the police have taken no action.
