Bhubaneswar: Satya Prakash Nayak on Tuesday resigned as Media Convenor and General Secretary of Odisha Congress after his name was excluded from the list of eligible voters in the election for party president.
Nayak sent his resignation to Pradesh Congress Committee President Sarat Pattanayak and party’s Odisha in-charge A Chellakumar. He, however, said that he will continue to work for the party.
He said his name did not figure in the list as a revised list of PCC members was prepared ahead of the election for Congress president.
“Since Pradesh Congress members are chosen taking into consideration their contributions and experience, I feel the posts held by me are of little use for the party. Therefore, I decided to quit these posts,” Nayak added.
