IMD Forecasts Well-Marked Low-Pressure Area Over Bay Of Bengal

Bhubaneswar: A low-pressure area has formed over the east equatorial Indian Ocean and southeast Bay of Bengal, announced the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday

The IMD predicted that the system will become a well-marked low-pressure area over the southeast Bay of Bengal and east equatorial Indian Ocean in the next two days, and gradually move towards the west-northwest over the southwest Bay of Bengal, approaching the Sri Lanka coast in the following three days.

The IMD also stated that this low-pressure area will not affect Odisha and that dry weather is expected to continue in most parts of Odisha in the coming days with no significant change in overnight temperatures.
