ED Seizes Property Of Bhosle, Chhabaria
Pune, Aug 3: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has seized assets of Rs 415 crores of Pune-based businessman Avinash Bhosle and builder Sanjay Chhabaria in the Yes Bank-DHFL embezzlement case.
With this, the ED has so far seized property worth Rs 1,827 crore in the case.
Rana Kapoor, the then chairman of Yes Bank, had given a loan of Rs 3,983 crore to DHFL. Doit Urban Ventures India Pvt Ltd controlled by the Kapoor family was given Rs 600 crores as loan.
After that, Yes Bank gave another loan of Rs 750 crore to RKW Developers Pvt Ltd, a group of DHFL, for the Bandra Reclamation Project. That amount was diverted by Kapil Wadhawan and Dheeraj Wadhawan.
After the chargesheet was filed, the CBI investigated this. Bhosle received Rs 68 crore as consultancy fee. He got this for three projects in 2018.
Among these, two projects were developed by Sanjay Chhabria, it said.
Bhosle also received consultancy fees in a slum redevelopment project in Worli.
It was shown that Bhosle and other companies were consulted on the potential cost of the project, architectural and engineering design, project construction and contracting, financial evaluation and structure. But the CBI found that Bhosle and the companies had not provided any such facility.
Apart from this, out of the Rs 2,000 crore loan taken by Sanjay Chhabaria’s Radius Group from DHFL, Rs 292 crore was diverted through Bhonsle.
