Aurangabad, July 31: Aurangabad AIMIM MP Imitaz Jaleel on Sunday met state Chief Minister Eknath Shinde who is visiting the district and handed over a memorandum to him pertaining to district developmental issues and among others.
Jaleel in his memorandum urged the CM to give priority to the needs and requirements of the common people for the overall development of Aurangabad district and take appropriate decisions on the basis of public opinion as well as special package for roads in rural areas, farmers, poor patients and sportspersons.
Jaleel also raised the issue of renaming of Aurangabad in his memorundum and said that, we have respect for Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Chatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj but the ruling party taking this unilateral decision on this sentimental issue to divert people’s mind from their failure of developmental works and political gains purpose is not acceptable.
He asked the CM to undertake a referendum over this issue and respect the peoples sentiments.
Jaleel also highlighted others issues including medical services in Government Medical College and Hospital, Roads in rural areas, demand for a stadium at Aamkhas ground in Aurangabad and providing of financial assistance to rain and flood affected farmers in the district.
Chief Minister Shinde who went to Delhi last night leaving his tour midway returned early this morning to Aurangabad to attend review meeting at Divisional Commissioner office as per his tour schedule and later he will go to Sillod to address a public rally apart from attending a number of other functions there.
