BJP leader Yatnal calls Rahul Gandhi ‘mad’, Cong reciprocates
Bengaluru : Former Union Minister and senior BJP leader Basanagouda Patil Yatnal has sprung yet another controversy by calling Congress leader Rahul Gandhi ‘mad’ for his silence over blood-letting Taliban rule in Afghanistan.
“Why that mad (person Rahul Gandhi) not talking about Taliban in Afghanistan? Why are Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar not talking? Taliban should be condemned. Isn’t it?” he told reporters on Sunday at Vijayapura responding to a query on the arrest of a Jamakhandi resident for “I love Taliban” post on his Facebook.
Reacting to the unparliamentary comments against Gandhi, KPCC President DK Shivakumar reciprocated by calling Yatnal ‘mad’ and alleged that the BJP leaders were making such comments to divert the attention of the people from burning issues like increasing price rise and unemployment.
“That mad (man, Yatnal) wants to be in the news. Therefore, he is making such comments. And the BJP leaders are doing this to divert the attention of the people from price rise and unemployment. Let them do,” he said.
Yatnal also attacked Bollywood Khans for their silence over the blood-letting by Taliban.
“All these Khans were saying that India is unsafe for their children. They should go and make a living there (in Afghanistan). The real estate rates are cheap. Three-bedroom flats are being sold at just Rs 50,000. Let them go and sleep there. Amir Khan, Shahrukh Khan, Salman Khan, and also Rahul Gandhi, who is not neither Christian nor a Hindu,” he said.
Yatnal also insisted Modi to take stern action against those who speak against India hereby.
He urged the central government not to give refuge to Afghan nationals, barring Hindus, Jains and other non-Muslim communities. “If they accept Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism, let them come.”
He also lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi for abrogating Article 370 which is helping the government to check the people who are having the mindset of the Taliban.
“In Jammu and Kashmir, Modi had abrogated Article 370. Because of that the Hindus have been safe there. We have to understand this. If you ask me, people with a Talibani mindset in our country should be shot as the Talibanis are doing there (Afghanistan). If you don’t do this, India and Hindus will not survive,” he said.
