Tiffin Bomb case : Punjabi vernacular press owner’s son arrested
Jalandhar : A joint team of the Counter Intelligence and Punjab police has arrested Gurmukh Pal Singh, the son of a local daily Punjabi newspaper owner in its custody for further investigations into the Amritsar Tiffin Bomb case.
The joint team conducted a raid on the residence of Jasbir Singh Rode, owner of a Punjabi Newspaper, on Garha Road near SGL hospital and took his son Gurmukh in its custody in connection with the Amritsar Tiffin Bomb case.
It is being reported that Gurmukh Singh had links with terrorist organizations. The police have started investigating his role in the tiffin bomb case besides his links with the terrorist outfits. Jasbir Singh rode has served the SGPC also in the past.
Soon after the team arrested Gurmukh Singh, his father Jasbir Singh Rode told the media men, who had gathered at his residence after the news broke out about the raid at his house, that the sleuths of the agency took away his son from the house but nothing objectionable including IEDs has been recovered from his house.
It is also learnt that the raid was conducted after the state police received inputs about the involvement of Gurmukh Pal Singh in the Amritsar Tiffin bomb Case and that the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has been establishing the relations of Gurmukh Pal Singh with his uncle Lakhbir Singh Rode, who is currently in Pakistan and has been handling International Sikh Federation from that country.
