Maha: After the jolt Sena on the amend now
Mumbai, July 2 : Shiv Sena Party president and former state chief minister Uddhav Thackeray had come up with the idea of building Shivbandhan so that Shiv Sainiks would remain loyal to Shiv Sena, the party said on Saturday.
Now, in view of the events of the last few days, Shiv Sena office bearers will have to give a certificate of loyalty.
It may noted that 39 Sena MLAs revolted under the leadership of Eknath Shinde, forcing Uddhav Thackeray to lose the chief minister’s post.
The party leadership has taken this decision in order to prevent large number of party MLAs from defecting to the Shinde camp.
Shiv Sena has started taking precautionary steps after the revolt of MLAs under the leadership of Eknath Shinde after the Legislative Council elections and the subsequent change of government.
Trying to make amends the party has come up with the idea of getting a certificate of loyalty from Shiv Sena MLAs, corporators and other office bearers in order to strengthen the party. Shiv Sena office bearers will have to write an affidavit expressing their faith in the leadership of Uddhav Thackeray.
Shiv Sainiks will have to write an affidavit stating that they have firm faith in the leadership of Revered Uddhav Thackeray and in return they will have his unconditional support. A signature drive will also be conducted for Shiv Sainiks, office bearers, corporators and MLAs, the party said.
Meanwhile, the Shiv Sena has taken major action against state Chief Minister Mr Shinde, who rebelled against the party leadership and become CM with the support of the BJP. Shinde has been sacked from all the posts of Shiv Sena leader. The decision was announced last night.
