Khurda : In an unfortunate incident, nearly seven persons were critically injured after a cooking gas cylinder exploded at a house in Gumbharimunda under Banpur police station limits in Khurda district.
Reportedly, the fire mishap took place at the house of Ravindra Pradhan.
One of the neighbour approached Ravindra’s home after spotting the smoke emanating from the house when the cooking gas cylinder exploded, sources said.
A member of Ravindra’s family and six other villagers sustained critical burn injuries in the mishap.
Victims were rushed to nearby Medical Center for treatment after the gas explosion. After their health condition started deteriorating, they were immediately shifted to hospitals in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.
