TMC implements ‘one person, one post’, Mamata is the exception
New Delhi : Trinamool Congress said on Tuesday it has implemented a ‘one person, one post’ policy, and party founder Mamata Banerjee is the only exception to it.
“One person, one post has been implemented by TMC in every district. This is a revolutionary change,” party leader Derek O’Brien said.
He added that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is the only exception to this rule.
“She is the chief minister, chairperson of the party and chairperson parliamentary board… She is the one exception to this rule as she is the founder chairperson of TMC,” O’Brien said.
“She also wanted one person one post, but all of us forced her to keep all posts as she is the founder chairperson,” he said. In a recent restructuring within TMC, Abhishek Banerjee, nephew of Mamata Banerjee, was appointed the national general secretary of the party.
