Bhubaneswar, June 6: A team of Special Task Force (STF) has apprehended three drug peddlers from Khordha and seized 2.58 kg of contraband brown sugar and other incriminating materials from their possession.
STF sources here on Monday said on the basis of intelligence input, a raid was conducted by team
of STF, BBSR near AIIMs, Bhubaneswar of Khordha district on Sunday and apprehended three
drug peddlers.
STF identified the drug peddlers as —Bhagirathi Bhatt @ Bhaga Biswajit Nayak and Chandan Mallik
During search contraband brown sugar weighing 2 kg 58 gram and other incriminating materials
were recovered and seized from their possession.
The accused persons have been arrested and are being forwarded to the court of District &
Sessions cum Special Judge, Bhubaneswar.
In this connection a case U/s 21(c)/29 of NDPS Act 1985 was registered. Investigation is on.
Since 2020, STF has seized more than 54 Kg of Brown Sugar, 202 Gram of Cocaine and more
than 103 quintals of Ganja, 750 gram opium and arrested more than 150 drug peddlers.
