Bhubaneswar : The Special Task Force (STF) of the Crime Branch today seized 1.26 kg of brown sugar worth over around Rs 1.20 crore from near the Khurdha bus stand and arrested three drug peddlers.
Police identified the three arrested as Md Saiyaz alias Aftab, Sk Kamruddin alias Muna and Sourav Patanaik.
Acting on a tip-off, the STF team conducted a raid, seized the contraband and arrested the drug peddlers. All three would be forwarded to the Court today.
The STF has registered a case under various sections of the NDPS Act and is inquiring into the case.
Since 2007, STF has seized more than 36 KG of brown sugar,74 quintals of Ganja and arrested more than 100 drug peddlers.
