Puri, May 14: Around 3 kg of brown sugar worth around Rs 3 crore was seized during a raid at Mangalaghat Chhaka in Puri district on saturday. In a press conference Puri SP. Kanwar Vishal Singh says this as the biggest ever seizure in Odisha till date.
Reportedly, a team of Baselisahi police carried out the raid and arrested 3 drug suppliers and seized the contraband.
The kingpin was identified as Susanta Pattanaik alias Nanda (22), and two other accused are Raj Kishore Sahoo alias Raju (24) and Manas Sahoo alias Guntha (27), all of Kesharpur under Kanas police limits.
Police also seized Rs 20,000 cash, four mobile phones, one currency counting machine, and one gray colour Maruti Alto from these anti-socials.
