Mercury Rise; 16 Station In Odisha Sizzles Above 42 Degrees
Bhubaneswar, Apr’ 25: 27 places of Odisha reeling under 40 degree and at 44 degrees Bolangir becomes the hottest city of Odisha on Monday.
Titilagarh was second at 43.8 degrees followed by Angul at 43.7 degrees Celcius. Sonepur recorded 43.4 degrees while Talcher and Sambalpur sizzled at 43.0 degrees on Monday afternoon.
As per the regional MeT office here at Bhubaneswar, 16 places of the state today, recorded 42 degrees or above (daytime) temperature. As many as 8 cities recorded temperatures of 43 degrees or more among which Bolangir tops the temperature.
The maximum daytime temperature at Bargarh, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Balasore, and Khurda was – 42.0, 40.8, 40.2, 39.0, and 42.0 degrees Celcius respectively.
The lowest maximum daytime temperature recorded today was 31.4 degrees at Gopalpur, followed by Puri (33.0) and Paradip (33.5). Daringbadi recorded a maximum temperature of 35 degree Celcius on Monday.
