Cong Slams Centre Over Hike In Fuel Prices
New Delhi, March 30: The Congress party on Wednesday slammed the Narendra Modi-led government at the Centre over daily hike in prices of petrol and diesel and termed it “extortion”.
Attacking the ruling dispensation, Congress chief spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala in a tweet said, “Daily attack.. Daily extortion.. Daily exploitation.. by Modi government on common man’s budget continues unabated! The eight increase has taken the petrol diesel price hike today to Rs 5.60 per litre.”
“Is there an end date to this ‘loot’? Is Prime Minister (Narendra Modi) unaccountable to people? Is there an ‘answer’?,” he asked. Surjewala’s reaction came after the petrol and diesel prices were hiked for the eight time in nine days on Wednesday. In Delhi now petrol costs Rs 101.01 as against Rs 100.21 per litre previously while diesel Rs 92.27 as against Rs 91.47 per litre. UNI
