Odisha chief minister Naveen Patnaik’s rule in Odisha spanning over two decades has today become an example for many of his ilk to follow.
Kudos part, his unstinted terms have emerged as a model for many chief ministers in India.
It might sound a little bit of exaggeration but what could be gathered from unconfirmed sources is, that Patnaik has become a rallying point for a few chief ministers. And many from them are trying to borrow a few leaves from the Odisha chief minister, the sources tipped in.
Of all people, even the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, has in a recent statement has praised the modalities adopted by the chief minister of Odisha. Even at the times of the pandemic the PM had heaped laurels on Patnaik the way latter handled the situation.
The significant feature behind Naveen Patnaik’s aura is simple to guess.
He is not a politician who is ever uncomfortable with the other regional chieftains in the country. Secondly, in his state, he has not tried to become the sole fountainhead of power by de-centralising the delivery mechanism.
Thirdly, it is his intimidating personality by which he has been able to mesmerize his party colleagues and the opponents as well.
And the most signature aspect is success which has been an unrelenting feature that must be attracting his counterparts elsewhere to borrow some tips on the open secrets that has made Patnaik to be in focus.
As they, the sources give to understand that, are in person or otherwise want to learn the modalities as how governance can be so effectual to tide over many political odds and win the faith of the people of the state.
It is, in fact, otherwise, that his government has been delivering through many pro-people steps almost successfully else there cannot be any other secret behind being so acceptable.
Going by the sources, chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, Jagan Reddy, or chief minister of Jharkhand, Hemant Soren visited Odisha and met the Odisha chief minister personally, and it was not for nothing such.
Even feelers from Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh are in touch with his political and administrative wings for the knowhow.
Right from 2000 onwards, despite an alliance with the BJP in between, his administration has never shown any signs of fractioning underneath and his style of removing the curves, if any, was through a cool demeanor, which is unique, perhaps, impartially speaking.
