Puducherry : Unidentified miscreants hurled country-made bombs on the Villianur main road near here past midnight on Wednesday night.
By the time the residents of the area came out of their houses, the miscreants fled the scene.
No one was injured.
Recently, a gang which came to rob a provision store in the area were nabbed by the residents and handed over to the police.
It is suspected that it is the handiwork of the gang to frighten the people in the area.
Senior police officials rushed to the spot and began investigation.
Cases were registered against three persons –Prakash, Karthik and Sait- and search is on for them who are said to be absconding, police said.
