Ensure safe return of students from Ukraine: Priyanka Gandhi
New Delhi, Feb 27: Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi on Sunday urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar to evacuate Indian students from Ukraine as soon as possible. “The videos of Indian students coming from Ukraine are very disturbing. For God’s sake, do whatever it takes to bring these children back to India. The whole nation is with these students and their families,” Priyanka Gandhi said in a tweet.
“Request the government to ensure their safe return,” she said. The Congress leader also shared a video of a student who is stuck in Kyiv. In the video, the girl said her name is Garima Mishra and she is from Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. She also said some people tried to break into the place where they were staying.
…1/2 pic.twitter.com/PfmBw8McLY

She claimed she was told by a friend that some students who left by cab and buses were stopped by the Russian army, and women were taken away. She also said there were videos which showed Indian students being stopped at the Romanian border. She said the Romanian army was misbehaving with students and beating them. “We used to see in movies, we thought Modi ji, Yogi ji… we used to see videos, we thought we would be saved. Now we don’t think we will be saved. Please save us, please send the Indian Army here or we will not be saved,” she said.
